Voliere yarns from Knit Picks

Yarn forward three times

by Bev
(Western Australia)

I am struggling with a knitted edge pattern.

Canton 4 stitches
1st row K2, (yfwd) 3 times, K2….7 stitches
2 nd row K3, P 1, K3
Work 3 rows garter stitch
6 th row slipping first stitch, cast off next 3 stitches, knit to nd….4 stitches

Repeat this pattern.

My difficulty is with the (yfwd) three times…does this mean wrap yarn around needle three times then stitch?

By repeating this pattern it should end up with a straight edge and a scalloped edge.

My trials have been straight on both sides and a ‘funny ‘ slanted stitch on the following row after the case ing off.

Hi Bev,

Yarn forward 3 times after a knit stitch and before a knit stitch should be like this;

After k2, Bring the yarn to the front , wrap yarn around needle twice, then knit the next stitch with the yarn over the needle. This will create 3 extra stitches between the knit stitches. Keep trying you'll get it. It might look funny at first but it will come together nicely.

best wishes,

Ratcha
