what does the abbreviation "miss"mean in knitting instructions

pattern states "miss" 37 sts either side of blue marker and place red markers on next stitch What exactly does miss mean?????

what does "miss" mean in knitting?

Hi,

I don't know what "miss" mean. I've never seen it before. Is it possible that it's a misspelled. Can you show me where you get pattern from or take a picture of instruction for me? I really would love to see the pattern. What are you making?

I finished this hat awhile ago but didn’t get a chance to post it. It is my experimental piece. The Pom Pom can be remove when you want to put up a pony tail. Thanks to my models who can tolerates such condition. :)
