sleeve increase chart

sleeve increase chart

I cast on 37 sts and do 6 rows in g st then increase 1 st at each end of next 3rd and every foll alt 4th row to 53 sts then on every foll 6th row until there are 57 sts. Cont straight until sleeve meas 16 cm ending with RS facing for next row. Now this is odd because I took the meaning of alt 4th row to mean every 8th row to increase 1 st at each end of row. But the measurement is far longer than 16 cms. Where am I going wrong. ..... every foll alt (4th) row to 53 sts ? Please help as I just don’t understand how every alt 4th row is surely every 8th row which means the sleeve will be far longer. Also it says ... cont straight until sleeve meas 16 cm ?

Hello Lynn,

This is more likely that this is to increase 1 st at each end every following 3rd and 4th rows alternately until there are 53 sts. Then increase I st every 6 th rows twice so that you gain 57 sts.

I drew an example of a chart with the above increase just to see how it would look like. I think it turned out nicely.

Thanks for the visit and question. Enjoy your knitting!
