Too many stitches left on back segment of raglan sweater

Knitting a yarnspirations raglan sweater. Back segment calls for 35 stitches to be left at neck but I have 59. Don’t understand as followed pattern diligently. Should I just keep knitting/decreasing or will this make the back too long?

Back piece of raglan has too many stitches left

Do you use the needle and yarn as recommended?
I feel that the back will be way too long if you keep going. You have 24 sts left. That 12 rows of decreases.
I would redo it and incorporate these 12 rows of decreases in there so that you get the same length as you get now.

I wonder how could this be so far off?

Thanks for asking. Hope this get resolve.
