Starting main body of a Rowan knitting pattern

Hello and I am hopeful you can assist me with following question. I just started knitting the Skibo Poncho pattern by Martin Story in the Rowan Knitting and Crocheting magazine Number 68 page 120. I have reached the step that says Main Body and would like to have clarification on the instructions before starting Round 1 (RS) and it reads as follows: Now work in moss st and place chart as follows *Work next 45 stitches as round 1 of chart, K1,(P1,K1) 9 times, rep from *. I know the pattern is in the center of the poncho with a moss st panel on either side of pattern column. Do I start the round with moss st panel first then follow pattern graph (45) sets across and then the other moss st panel. I am starting with 128 sts and gradually increasing up to 460 sts for poncho.

Anxious to know if you can possibly help me!
Thank you!
Marilyn

Hi,

Yes, correct. You should be fine as long as you keep the 45 st- pattern column in the center and knit the rest as moss stitches. It sounds like you're doing great! Keep up the good work!
