Problems making up a garment.

by Pauline Sparkes
(Southampton, Hampshire, UK)

I am an experienced knitter and have just knitted a cardigan. Having sewn the shoulder seams together and knitted the front edge border all around, I now find the top of the sleeves are too small to fit the armhole.
I have checked and rechecked the pattern and can see no way in which I have made an error.
With arthritic fingers, I really do not want to redo everything and need a fix.

Hello Pauline,

I don't blame you for not wanting to redo the sleeve. Did you bind off on the top by any chance? How about if you just fix the cap of the sleeve. Then make sure to bind off with a larger needle. This happened to me in the past and it helped.

I feel bad that you worked hard all this way and had to stop. Hope you continue to finish it when your hand feel better.

Thank you for sharing your thought and your work with us.
I wish you the best,

Ratcha
