What does “pattern of multiple of 4+3+20 (border sts)” mean? I found a basic baby blanket pattern but know don’t how to start it, see attached photo.

what does Pattern of multiple of 4+3+20 border sts mean?
by: Ratchadawan

This mean you will need to cast on ( 4 sts x number of sets you want to make) then add 3 more sts. Then add another 20 sts for borders. (each side has 10 sts)

For example, if you want to make 10 sets of the pattern, you'll need to cast on (4x10)+3 +20 = 63 sts. or 15 sets would be 83 sts and so forth. You can change your borders to be wider or shorter.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks for sending in the question.
