Interpreting instructions

by Sarah
(USA)

Hi,

I am about to start working on a pattern, but I'm trying to make sure I understand what is going on. It is a lace pattern and the RS instructions are very easy to understand (they follow a chart); however, the WS instructions read as follows:

All WS rows are purled across(excepting: oo、ooo、selvage sts)

My understanding of what is going on here is that the double double yo, triple yo, and selvage stiches are knit rather than purled; this is based on some of the other instructions showing that the selvage stitches are knit.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Interpreting lace instructions

Hi Sarah,

Yes, you understand correctly that the wrong side should be purled except those special stitches you mentioned. Make sure to follow instructions carefully while working on top of yo’s. You may have to perform both knit and purl sts into the double and triple yarnover sts.

Thanks for the question. Happy New year to you and your family!

Ratcha
