inserting the actual design

I am just wondering if I could knit a design, say a bear, by itself and then incorporate it into the piece of knitting. I am in the process of knitting and orca into a Cowichan sweater, and I can do intarsia, but I was wondering could I knit the design independently and the join then knit it into the panels along side the design as I knit those up. Thank you. it was just an idea that came into my head. I can knit and have been knitting fir 20 years but I was wondering about if it is possible to do it this way.

Hello,

I can tell that you’re very talented knitter and on your way to become a creative knit designer. I don’t think there is a limit on what you can do to your knitting. I love you idea of adding other decorative knit piece to the sweater. I would say just go for it. Please Share with us a photo of your finished please. I’d love to see it!
