Increasing stitches in knitting sleeves for a sweater

by Lynn
(Herefordshire, england)

Cast on 45 sts rib for 8 cm. Working in st st work 87 rows inc 1 st at each end of 3rd and every foll 7th row 71 sts.

Cont without shaping until sleeve measures 48 cm.

I’m not sure after inc 1 st each end of 3rd row when the next increase should be, is it every 7th knit row or every 7th row which could be a Pearl row ? Or do I count from the 3rd row ie 4,5,6, and then increase on the 7th row ? Please help !

Increase sleeve

Hello Lynn,

Sorry for the late reply.

After you done with the 3rd row increases, you start counting the next row as your 1st row. Then continue working until you complete the 6th row. The next row, 7th row is an increase row. Then after that you start counting the next row as your 1st row all over again. Yes, the increases can fall on knit or purl rows.

Increase every 7 rows until you have a total of 71 sts.

Thanks for the question and visit. Have fun knitting!

Ratcha
