i am confuse about the decreasing in a pattern

I am knitting a girl skirt in 2 pieces back and front, and at one point i get this,

0-3 months,(6 months), 12-18 months, (2 years)

Dec on both sides every 6 rws 7 x 1 s (every 6 rws
7 x 1 s) every 8 rws 4 x 1 s and every 6 rws 3 x 1
s (every 8 rws 7 x 1 s). It remains 55 (59) 63 (67) s


I am knitting size 12-18 months

can anyone explain please, thank you!!

Decreasing pattern for skirt

For your size 12-18 months;


Decrease 1 st on both sides every 8th row 4 times and then every 6 rows 3 times. You should have 63 sts remains after decreasing.
