How to work this scallop pattern

by Julie
(Darwen lancashire)

I cast on 380 at.
The pattern reads.
Row 1 p to the end
Row 2 p7,*k1 slip this st to left needle, yfrn, p first st again, p1, rep* last 5 STS p
Row 3 k7,*(k1,k1 tbl) into st, k2 rep* last 5 STS k.
After these 4 rows I should end up with 180 stitches but don't.

On the 3 row. Do I knit through the back loop as well as knit the stitch.

I don't think you did anything wrong. I think there's something not right about the pattern because. I don't see how you can get the stitches down to 180 without any decreasing rows. This puzzles me.
This is an unusual scallop pattern.

I'm sorry I couldn't be any help further. Is it possible to contact the designer?

How to read this scallop pattern
by: Ratchadawan

Hi,

I don't have row 4, So I assume it must be a decrease row since the number of the stitch is 180.
Make sure you check row 2 carefully since you have to do the yarn forward and round needle. Be sure to wrap the yarn before p the next st.

Yes, on row 3 you knit the stitch and then knit the back loop of the same stitch. You will end up with 2 sts in this one.

Thanks for the question. Have a great one!
