How to extend pattern to make Cardigan longer

by Noell
(Virginia)

I am working on the back piece of a Cardigan sweater for a size 3X.
The Pattern calls for 6 rows of moss stitch, 104 rows of stocking stitch, cast off all but middle 29 stitches of which you moss stitch 6 more rows but it doesn't look long enough. The left front & right front panels call for the same. How can I extend or make the sweater longer?

Thanks,
Noell

Thank you for your response. Should the additional rows be an even # or odd #? So this affect the sleeves any?
Thanks

adjust size for a cardigan

Hi Noell,

You can add more rows of the stockinette stitch to as far as you want and keep the moss stitch as it is. The rest of the pattern should stay the same. Just make sure you add the same length for the front panels. The cardigan is rectangle so you shouldn't have problem adjusting this.

Thank you for visiting and question. Enjoy the evening!
