Hi Marlisa,

Thanks for visiting and sharing the question.

You do this by k3 sts as usual, then slip the next 3 sts onto a stitch holder and leave it at back of work. You cast on 3 sts on the right needles. Please see the video demo on the cast on methods. then proceed to k1.
