Help with Rib 2 increasing row?

by Mary
(Alabama)

My pattern states:

Cast on 93 103:115:125 sts

After 6 rows of k1 p1 rib it has following increase row:

Inc row: Rib 2 5:5:2, inc in next st, (rib 76:7:7, inc in next st) 11 13:13:15 times, rib 2 6:5:2. (105117:129:141 sts)

I’m completely lost!? I’m staring with 103 stitches so I know I’m supposed to increase by 14 stitches in the increase row, but for life of me, I can’t understand this!?

Increase in ribbing
by: Ratchadawan

Hi Mary,

Yes, it does look quite confusing. I’ll try my best to explain this.
First, rib 5 Sts, then inc in the next st.
The next section is going to be a repeated one.
* now rib 6 sts, inc in the next st; repeat from * 12 more times (with a total of 13 increases for this section).
Then rib the last 6 sts.
Should end up with 117 sts.

I hope this makes sense. Thanks for the question and visit.
Have fun knitting!

Ratcha
