Help with Drops design Fish Tales boys sweater knitting instructions

by Ida
(Daytona beach florida)

I am knitting the cap sleeve on a Drops Design Fish Tales boys sweater size 5/6. I am having difficulty understanding the following instructions:

shape the sleeve cap as follows: put 2 sts on each side of the marker on a holder. Knit the sleeve cap back and forth on the needle placing sts at each edge on a holder every other row as follows: 8 sts 2 times. Then put all sts back on the needle and knit Pattern 1.

Hope you can help.

Ida

Knitting a cap of a sleeve on a boy sweater
by: Ratchadawan

Hi Ida,

Here is a step by step instruction;

1. Put Stitches on Holder: Take 2 stitches from each side of the marker (a total of 4 stitches) and put them on a stitch holder. This keeps them safe while you work on the rest of the sleeve.

2. Knit Sleeve Cap: Work on the sleeve cap by knitting back and forth on the needle. For every other row, move 8 stitches (4 from each side) onto a stitch holder. Do this twice.

3. Return Stitches to Needle: Once you've done the above, put all the stitches back on the needle. Now, knit according to Pattern 1.

Hope this helps and thanks for the question and visit.
Have fun knitting!

Ratcha
