Help me understand this pattern! Sleeve Increase

by Lucy
(Redditch England)

Hi, I’m knitting a sleeve for a jumper.
The pattern starts with 44sts and then it says

Inc one st at each end of 5th row, then on 3 foll sixth rows, then on 5 foll eighth rows. 62sts

What does this mean?

increase sleeve every x following rows
by: Ratchadawan

Hi Lucy,

"Inc one st at each end of 5th row, then on 3 foll sixth rows, then on 5 foll eighth rows. 62sts"

The above instruction means to do the following;

1. Increase a stitch at each end of the 5th row.

2. Then increase a stitch at each end on the following 6th rows 3 times. (or every 6 rows 3 times)

3. Then increase a stitch a each end on the following 8th rows 5 times. (or every 8 rows 5 times)

Set a row counter to 1 every time you start a new row after an increase row.

Thank you for visiting and questioning. Have fun needling!

Ratcha
