First and last stitch working in the round

by Yvonne Hitchcock
(Albany N.Y)

I am knitting a mans pullover from top down with raglan sleeve pattern says to knit the first st. and purl the last on selvedge . Do I need to do this when working in the round? Very confusing pattern. Wish I could find an easier one. Any suggestions?

Thank you

First and last sts when working in round

Hi Yvonne,

Interesting. Usually we slip the first stitch (knitwise or purlwise depending on the direction) and then either knit or purl the last st.

I would follow the direction and do what the pattern suggest. It will help make the selvedge looking great.
