Double Strands VS single strand

Hi,

I have a pattern for knitted shrug. The pattern says to use worsted weight yarn and to knit with double strands. I want to knit with single strands. what difference will this make?

double strands and single strand

Hi,

The differences between using a single strain and double strains of worsted weight yarn are;

1. The weight of the shrug will be lighter and less bulky.
2. The gauge would be smaller and require smaller needle to work with and also you need more stitches.

Thank you for visiting and question. Happy knitting!
