Do not understand the pattern -Dec 1 st at beg of next and 3 foll 18th row

I have knitted 18 rows as pattern states then I'm confused. The pattern reads;

Work 18 rows ending with ws row ( got this) working all side seam decreases as set by back, dec 1 st at the beginning of next and 3 foll 18th row,then on the 2nd following 16 th row until 33stiches i have 39 st

Hi Allana,

You dec 1 st at the beginning of next row. *Then work 17 row straight and dec 1 st at the beginning on the 18th row.* Repeat from * to * 2 more times. Then **work 15 row straight and dec 1 st at the beginning of the next row (16th row)**. Repeat from ** to ** once more. You should have a total of 6 sts decreases.
