DK YARN

I am making a spiral sock for my granddaughters. I could use my hand dyed yarn but I want a good DK weight yarn that can be put in the washer and dryer, and would be good for kids. My granddaughters are 8 and twins are 6. My son does the laundry and I know that hand dyed yarn would accidentally get put in the drier.
