Confused on this pattern - Back of sweater

by Sol

Hello. I have been knitting a sweater on circular needles lately and I am confused by a step in the pattern. It says to place sts from holder onto needle and join yarn so that you are ready to work a WS row. I am confused as to which direction I place the sts back onto the needle and how to join the yarn in this case.

Hi Sol,

First, take the stitches of the holder and place it on the circular needles. Now make sure that you have the WRONG SIDE of the back facing you when you begin next row.
Use a new yarn to begin working on the 1st row and continue on with the pattern.

Here is a video showing how to join yarn at beginning of a row. In your case you won't have another end of the tail to tide with. So you would just weave in the tail behind the work all by itself.

Have fun knitting!
Ratcha
