Can I UN-block a project?

I have blocked a small finished project (a neck cowl) by steam pressing, and I don’t like the result. Work has stretched a lot, and the texture stitch I used has gone really flat.

Is there a way to reverse this? If I wash it will I get the loft in the work back?

I've heard that it can be done but I've never tried it myself.
You can try wetting it and then block it again. Just make sure that you shape it to the length you'd like and not to stretch it too much.

Best on your project! and thank you for visiting.
