Wrap and turn process

First time knitting a shawl using short rows. I have finished my 41 rows and I ended in the middle of the shawl. Then is states to knit to the end. if I do that one half of the shawl will have a half more row than the other side. When you do short rows you keep moving the markers closer to the middle of the item. Stuck?
