P4,(yo,k2together) last 4stitches purl. What do the parenthesis mean? There is no number behind it like 5times.

Hi kathleen,

So, your pattern looks more like this;

P4,(yo,k2together) 5 time to last 4stitches purl.

This means you will need to repeat instruction written in the parenthesis at a given number of times.

In this case, You will do "yo and k2tog" for 5 times.
Your row will be like this;

p4, yo,k2tog, yo,k2tog, yo,k2tog, yo,k2tog, yo,k2tog, p4.

Thank you for sending in your question.
Have fun needling!

Ratcha
