What does ridge patt mean?

by Sylvianne
(Bournemouth, UK)

I’m stuck on part of a pattern for a lace panel matinee coat. This is a front side panel at the shape neck.

Starting with 12 sts.

Work 9 rows in st-st and ridge patt dec 1 st at each end of next and every foll alt row. 2 sts.

I’m not sure what to do?
