What do you think inccr means in my knitting pattern?

by Celia

I am starting to knit a basset hound. I have a photocopied sheet and no code of the abbreviations. I think cr means cross right and I have worked that out. But then it says inccr. Can anyone help me please.

inccr knitting abbreviation
by: Ratchadawan

Hi Celia,

I've never seen "inccr" before. I looked around the web and I came across this corgi pattern https://www.pavilionbooks.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/corgi_pattern.pdf.

I'm not sure if this is where you get the pattern from. It might be a different dog.

It looks like the "cr" in this case is and abbreviation for the cream color yarn. So basically, inccr refers to increasing a stitch using cream yarn.

Thanks for visiting and sharing the question. Have fun knitting!
