Unclear on the instructions from the pattern

I am knitting the hood for a cardigan. Cygnet pattern cy1172.
After picking up the stitches to do the hood, it states purl 1 row, place stitch marker in centre. I am fine with that.
It thens says. Beginning with a knit row, stst 3 rows, slipping marker. Then it says: Next row: knit to marker, m1, k1, m1, knit to end.
Then it says: repeat last 4 rows 3 more times.
The problem is that if I do 3 rows in stst - I would then be doing a purl row next and not a knit row. The hood is clearly just stst all over.
Can you help?

Hi Jen,

The last 4 rows should be, p row, k row, p row and knit row with increase. You can go ahead and start a repetition with a purl row.

I finished this hat awhile ago but didn’t get a chance to post it. It is my experimental piece. The Pom Pom can be remove when you want to put up a pony tail. Thanks to my models who can tolerates such condition. :)
