Voliere yarns from Knit Picks

Turkish cast on

by Dionisia

Hi, I’m trying to learn how to do toe up socks using Turkish cast on….and though I’ve figured out the initial cast on onto the needles, what I want to know, as I work on the sock, do I keep the working yarn on the top or the bottom? If so, I’ve not figured out how to keep that yarn on top. Is it in how you turn the needles?
I would really appreciate your help. Thank you.

H Dionisia,

The working yarn should be at the back of work just as when we work the knit stitch. The yarn is on the bottom of the needle not over the needle.

Here are some good videos you can watch;

Thanks for asking and I hope these video will help you work this out.
