Top of welt

by Mary Jackson
(Houston)

I am knitting a fair isle sweater. The pattern is from the bottom up and starts with 8 rows of ribbing. Then starts fair isle. I just completed 18 rows of the pattern. The instructions now say continue in main pattern as follows and there are instructions for 9 rows. Rows 4-9 form main pattern. It says continue in pattern until 36 rows have been worked from top of welt.
Do I work 36 rows of the 9 row pattern or do I include the 18 rows of the first design.
The pattern is Parsley cardigan by Martin Storey
Thank you

Hi Mary,

Yes, you include the 18 row of the first design. You did 18 rows and now you have to work the 9 row pattern twice then you'll have 36 rows.
