Tips for carrying along knitted blanket

When knitting a blanket how do you carry the knitted portion along as it gets big? Without having a huge wad in your lap. Maybe it is just the way it is. Would love to know a tip if you have one.

This is a great question. I really don't have any tip for this. I haven't done a large blanket lately so I haven't thought about it. If I do, I would place the knitted portion in a clean bag to keep it clean (I a pet dog) then I would just grab the bag when I move.
