Take 3 together vintage knitting term

vintage knitting explanation

In a vintage pattern what does ‘take 3 together’ mean ?
As it’s in a row of K1 P1 rib does it just mean to work the 3 stitches together dependant on whether it’s a knit or purl stitch ?
That’s the only interpretation I can think of.

what is "take 3 together" in vintage knitting?
by: Ratchadawan

I've never heard of this term before. I googled the web and came across a Lady's knitting book from 1881 which obtained by a UK public library.

There is an explanation for "take 2 together". It means to knit 2 sts together. So, I would think to "take 3 together" would refer to "knit 3 together.

It quite interesting looking through this book. Here is a link to it;

Have fun knitting!
