Slip stitch rib pattern

by sara

Here is my rib pattern in the round:
Row 1: Knit 2, slip 1,
Row 2: Knit

When working flat, this is what I have tried:

Row 1: Knit 2, slip 1
Row 2: Purl

Unfortunately it looks slightly different and I have tried to work the purl row by purling through the back loop, but still cant get it to look the same.

I need to work flat when separating front and back for sleeves.

Any suggestions is highly appreciated!

Hi Sara,

I would have done exactly the same as what you did. Could it be the slip st problem? How did you slip st? purl way or knit way. The knit slip will cause the st to twist and the purl slip won't. ( I actually like the twisted one better). It seems to me you're doing everything right. So, I don't know why they don't look the same.
