Shape Raglan (sleeves)

Hi Please help!

I'm knitting a cardigan (first time) and i'm stuck on the following instruction:

dec 1st at each end of next and 2 foll 4th rows (I've done this), then on foll 17 alt rows

I've done the first part, but does it mean i dec 1 st at each end every 17th row or dec 1 st at each knit side 17 times?

Apologies if it's been asked before :)

Hi,

It's totally okay. You don't have to apologize. I have been asked similar question but not the same as this one.

You said you've don the dec 1 sts at each end of next row and the following 4th rows twice.
Now you have to do dec 1 st at each end of every following alternate rows 17 times. In another word, dec 1 st on each end every other rows 17 times. Yes, this would be on the knit side.

So your second option is right!
