Hi Dianne,

"Bind off 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows —87"
This means to bind off 4 sts at the beg of the next 2 rows and you should have 87 sts left when complete.

"Dec 1 st at each end of next 3 rows, then on foll 4 rows — 73"
This is to dec 1 st at each end of the next 3 rows, then dec 1 st at each end of every 4th row until there are 73 sts left on the needle.
