Rollneck slipover jumper

My question is when I have placed my marker on the 20th st,the knit to the end. The next row when I get to the marker does that stay there or does it move on up the rows as I go along

The marker stays where it is. So that you know where the measurement begins.

I finished this hat awhile ago but didn’t get a chance to post it. It is my experimental piece. The Pom Pom can be remove when you want to put up a pony tail. Thanks to my models who can tolerates such condition. :)
