Please explain what the directions mean

by Paula
(Rutherford, Nj, USA)

Directions read as followsunt
Working all side increases as set by the last row inc 1 st at each end of 5[7;7;7;7;7} Foll 6th rows, then 2 foll 8th rows, working inc sts in st st. 100 106; 112;122;116;122;130 sts. Cont straight until back meas 40 41; 39; 39;39;39; 41 cm ending with RS facing for next row.

The section of directions that confuse me is "end of 5{7;7;7;7;7;7} foll 6th rows, then 2 foll 8th rows working inc sts in st st ....."

I don't know if you need more information then this.
Thank you for your help..

I got the pattern from knitrown.com East Village by Josh Bennet

Hello Paula,

It does look so confusing!

"Working all side increases as set by the last row inc 1 st at each end of 5[7;7;7;7;7} Foll 6th rows, then 2 foll 8th rows, working inc sts in st st. 100 [106; 112;122;116;122;130] sts. Cont straight until back meas 40 [41; 39; 39;39;39; 41] cm ending with RS facing for next row. "

I think it's written different than what we've usually seen in patterns. It's going backward.

I think it means to do increases on each side every following 6 th rows for 5 or 7 times depending your size. Then after you done that you do increases on each side every 8th rows 2 times for all sizes.

Best regards,

Ratcha
