Need help with baby's sweater pattern directions


Question



Working on a child's sweater - Hayfield Baby Chunky 4400. Directions say "working with st - st (throughout) inc 1 st at each end of 5th and every foll 6th 6th:6th:8th:8th row to 23 sts.

Inc 1 st at each end of every foll 8th row to 25 stitches.

Cont without shaping until sleeve measures 17 cm ending with ws row.

Hi,

I'll try to explain as best as I can. Here it goes:

Knit all row, Increase 1 st on each side of the 5th row.
Increase again on every 6 th row (Row 11, 17, 23, 29, 35, ...) or 8 th row (row 13, 21, 29, 37, 45,...) depending on your pattern size. Increase until you have 23 sts.

"6th [6th, 6th, 8th, 8th]" refer to different sizes of the pattern ranking from smallest to the largest. circle the size you picked and follow only your pattern size. Ignor the rest.

Then increase once more on the following 8th row so that you have a total of 25 sts.

Continue to knit with out increasing until the sleeve is 17 cm long ending with the wrong side row. (This mean to complete the wrong side row.)
