This pattern is unclear. The * should be in front of the direction that needs repeat.
For example, *k2, kfb; repeat from * to end of round, or k2, *kfb; repeat from * to end of round.

It is more likely that the pattern wants you to do repeats of k2 and then knit into front and back of the next stitch throughout the round. So, it will be like k2,kfb,k2, kfb, k2, kfb, k2, kfb, and keep going until the end of round. You will gain 1 stitch for every 3 sts. You can check to see how many stitches the pattern expects by the end of this round. If your number matches the pattern's number then all is good.

Thank you for the question and visit.
Have a great day!
