Knit 2tog, Knit4

I have a baby hat pattern and it says knit1, knit 2tog, knit4 to the end. Do I do an extra stitch or knit 4 then 2 Tog? My email is

Hi Deborah,

Thanks for the question and visit. I don't quite get the pattern. I don't have an indication of repeating, so I can't tell you at the moment how this is done. Could you please write down the whole row of the pattern including all symbols, eg. *. That way I will know exactly how the pattern goes.
