Keeping colour sequence

I have a pattern for a hoopoe - Row 17 of body/head pattern is ‘(cream) inc 1, K2, (peach) K2, inc 2, K2, (cream) K2 inc 1 (16 sts), then Row 18 says ‘purl, keeping colour sequence’ - what does this mean? And how do you work with the two different colours alternately in one row?

Keeping color sequence

Hello Mrs Hart,

It looks like you're knitting a fair Isle with more than one color wool.
To keep the color in sequence is to repeat the colors of the previous row. So on row 18, you'll work each stitch with the same color you use on row 17.

There are many great video on how to knit fair Isle or Jacquard. Here is one of them. You can go to YouTube.com and find more.

I hope you find this helpful and thanks for sharing your question.
Have a wonderful evening!

Ratcha
