Is the stitch count correct?

I am making the cabled cowl with the fuzzy lining that is knit separately.


In making the lining, I'm wondering if the stitch count of twelve is
correct. The cabled section has 24 stitches and the lining with only 12.
Stitches doesn't fit even when I stretch it.Looking at the illustration of
The lining on the pattern appears much wider also. Please help.

I would love to help, but I don't have a picture or a pattern to look at. I don't want to assume that it's not correct. Can you please direct me to the pattern? So I can at lease have some idea. I would think the designer would have double check it before. Is it possible that the lining is knitted with a much larger needle because the yarn is so fuzzy?

I would really appreciate you getting back to me regarding where the pattern is.
