Increase Knitting - Make 1 right and make one left stitch

Question: How do you Make 1 Right and Make 1 Left stitch?

Answer

Hi Denise,

Thank you for sending me your question.
To make 1 right (M1R) or increase one stitch on the right is to pick up the horizontal strain of yarn on the right side of indicated st and knit. This will make the new stitch leaning toward the right. Do the same with Make one left (M1L)except on the left side.

I found a good instruction and illustration on how to M1R and M1L that may help you understand better.

Thank you and happy knitting.
