Increase keeping to pattern

How do I keep to pattern when I have to increase st at next and following alt row

Pattern says keeping to pattern inc 1 st at each end of next then following alt row

Pattern is
1st row knit
2nd row purl
3rd row k1 yfwd k2tog *k6 yfwd k2tog rep from * to last 0 st k0
4th row purl
5th row knit
6th row purl
7th row knit
8th row purl
9th row k5 yfwd k2tog * k6 yfwd k2tog rep from * to last 4 sts k4
10 row purl
11 row knit
12 row purl

These rows form pattern but when I increase 1 stitch at each end it creates more sts how do I keep to pattern on rows 3 and 9

Thankyou
Karen

increase while keeping to pattern
by: Ratchadawan

Hi Karen,

The pattern has "k6, yfwd, k2tog" as a repeat. We'll use this as a guide as we increase. It's hard to explain but I made the chart for you just to give you an idea of how the increase will look like.

The chart is shorten so it has less number of stitches in it but the rows are the same and both ends are showing how the increase should look like. you just continue increasing like that until it get to the number of stitches you want. I hope this makes sense to you.

Thanks for your question and have a great day!
Ratcha
