How to calculate plain rows between increase rows

by Kris
(US)

I'm making a cape adapted from a pattern I got from the internet. I'm knitting it top down instead of bottom up and it's going to be larger than the original pattern. I can't find anything on the internet about how many rows I need to knit between increase rows to get to the desired width and length I need for the cape to fit me. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello Kris,

I'm not sure if you've seen the 5 basic shapes of shawl sheet before. Each types of shawl shows you how to work the increase. I think it will be helpful to look at them. You can download the sheet for free at revelry.com.
