How do I purl?

Hi Judi,

Thank you for the question. One can creates a purl stitch by;

1. Bringing the working yarn to the front.
2. Inserting the right-hand needle from the back to the front of the next stitch.
3. Wrapping the yarn around the right-hand needle and pull it through toward the back of wrok.
4. Slipping the stitch just worked off the needle.

These steps create one purl stitch.

Purling is an opposite work of a knit stitch. Just remember to bring yarn in the front and stick the needle up!

I have written a step-by-step guide on how to purl along with pictures on this purling page. You can also watch video at the bottom of the page to give you a better idea.

Happy Knitting!
