How do I lap front shoulder with button holes to sew in sleeves

I’m so confused where I need to sew in sleeves as I have a baby jumper with buttonholes on top of shoulder so needs to flap over back to fasten buttons, but where do I join my sleeves at the shoulder ? How far do I join the sleeve, do I leave a flappy bit on front and back of shoulders or just the front with buttonholes?

Joining shoulder with button band
by: Ratchadawan

Hi Pauline,

I’m trying to think about the best way to do this. How about if you overlap the flaps of the button hole over the shoulder and then pinned them so that it stay together. Then you can sew in the sleeves without losing track of the overlap.
Just make sure that the button hole flap is on top. Once you done joining the sleeve. you can take away the pins and sew in the buttons.

I wish I could show you how to do this but I’m out of town at the moment.

I sure hope this helps you.

Thanks for visiting and questioning. Happy knitting!

Ratcha
