How Do I Do These Decreases? (neck edge)

My Pattern Says "At Neck Edge,Bind Off 5 sts once,4 stitches once, then 1 st 3 times" it doesn't say all at once-which makes no sense to me- or every other row? Please Help...
Thank You In Advance....Shirley

neck edge decrease

Hi Shirley,

Is this a whole piece of the front or just on side of the front? It looks to me like it's just a half piece.

If this is a half front then, you bind off 5 sts at the neck edge, then work to the end.
Next row, work to the end of row.
Next row, BO 4 sts, work to the end of row.
Now the decrease 1st 3 times is the problem. You can decide if you want to do it every row or every other row because it doesn't say. I'd probably do it every other rows.

If this is a full front piece, I'd do the same decrease as above for one side and then do another side later. If you prefer you can do both neck edges at the same time just need to join another yarn. This look simple enough to do one side at the time since there are not many decreases.

Thanks for sending in your question. Best to you!
Ratcha
