How can an odd numbered row be right side?

by Gladys Hymowitz

The pattern reads rows 1-7 knit across. Row 8 increase 30 sts evenly spaced. Row 9 right side and gives the pattern to follow. My question is how can row 9 be the right side?

How odd rows can be on right side
by: Ratchadawan

It depends on the pattern writer to assign which is the right side. In majority of patterns I've seen, the odd rows are on the right sides. This seems to be a common concept since you start out row 1 as your right side, therefore all other following odd rows are also fall into the right side.

I hope this helps and thank you for visiting.
Have a great New Year!
