Help with instruction - turn work

I'm stuck on a pattern. Here are the instructions: K2tog, k11, turn, leave remaining 25 sts on a stitch holder. 12 sts. Working on these 12 sts, proceed... I have 38 stitches on my needle right now. I just don't understand this.

Hi,

Next row: k2tog, k11, place next 25 sts on a stitch holder. Turn and continue working back and forth with only these 12 sts on the left needle.
